Meridian, Miss., July 26, 1866.

Governor:

On the 25th of May last Abram Myer, charged with aiding and abetting his brother to set fire to his store in this place, in order to recover the insurance thereon, escaped from the officer in charge and made his way to Memphis

A telegram from Memphis to-day announces that this fugitive from justice has been arrested there and will be held subject to our order

I would respectfully ask that you make a requisition for the said Abram Myer and place it in the hands of the bearer of this letter—
