Dear Governor,

It occurs to me that I had better give neighbor Swan another rally for a years interest, (the year before last) which is due as for Int in the university funds. The amount of one actual outlay for salaries exceeds our annual income unless we draw another instalment.

Our repairs are so great & need so much to make them that unless we get more money we will be forced to allow the buildings to suffer for want of needful repairs.

If you think there is the least hope I will come down about next Tuesday Morning, when I will be glad to See you as I cannot proceed without your assistance.

I think if we do not get it soon we may be postponed for an indefinite time.

Very truly & respectfully your friend

J. M. Howry
