The State of Mississipi Tippah County

To his Excellency J.M. Stone, Governor of the State of Mississippi:

Your petitioner, H. T. Connseille, a citzen of said County and State, would respectfully show unto your Excellency, that, at the August Term 1874 of the Circuit Court of said County, a forfeiture was taken against your petitioner, as security in the Bond of one James Bell for his appearance at the Beruary Tern 1874 of said Court, to answer a charge of assault and Bettery; and judgement final was entered against your petitioner as such security, for one hundred and fifty ($150.00) dollars and costs.

And your petitioner would further show unto your Excellency, that, at the aforesaid August Tern 1874 of said Court, a further forfeiture was taken against your petitioner, as security on the Bond of the aforesaid James Bell, for his appearance at the February Term 1874 of said Court, to answer a charge of Riot; and judgement final was

taken against your petitioner, as such security, for one hundred and fifty ($150.00) dollars and costs.

And your petitioner would further show unto your Excellency, that on the day of [blank space] 1875, your petitioner did arrest and deliver to the civil authorities of said County and State, the aforesaid James Bell, who is now in the custody of the law; all of which facts are more fully set forth in the accompanying certificates of H.B. McCord, Clerk of the Circuit Court of said County, to which the attention of your Excellency is directed.

The prayer of your petitioner, therefore, is, that your Excellency will, in the exercise of the power conferred by Section ten (10), Article five (5) of the Constitution of the State, and section one hundred and eight (108) of the Revised Code of 1871, remit the said forfeitures against him, as security on the Bond of the aforesaid James Bell, and as in duty bound will every pray &c
