Forest Missi July 31st 1866.

His Excellency Benj. G Humphreys Gov. State of Missi.

Dr. Sir,

I signed the receipt and Mailed to the Treasurer as directed. I will want the receipts of Edwards which we filed in the Auditors office—and will make application for them before instituting suit—but I think it proper—that you notify him that I am authorized to bring the suits. I can procure a certified copy of your proclamation in regard to the Matter of Cotton from the Secretary of State. There will have to be four district suits brought—as the sureties upon the Bonds are different—No 7014. $11,25000 & No 1 $5,000.00 can be consolidated, the principal and sureties being the same, the parties to the other three are different and cannot in my opinion be united. I thought probably that you, as you desired a test question, did not observe that the sureties were different. I shall proceed to institute suits upon them all—unless otherwise advised, but I shall take pleasure in complying strictly with your instructions—
