Know all men by these Presents, That we L. Haughton, of the State of Mississippi and county of Monroe as principal and Sidney Randle of the state of Mississippi and county of Monroe and Henry D. Spratt of the state of Mississippi and County of Monroe as sureties, are held and firmly bound unto the State of Mississippi, in the full and just sum of Forty thousand Dollars; to the payment whereof, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, jointly and severally, our joint and several heirs, executors and administrators, firmly by these presents.

Sealed with our seals, and dated at Aberdeen Miss. this 25th day of October One thousand eight hundred & sixty-four.

The condition of the foregoing obligation is such, that whereas, the said L. Haughton, has been appointed to the office of Quartermaster-General of the State of Mississippi. Now, therefore, if the said Haughton, shall truly and faithfully execute and discharge all the duties of the said office according to law (by virtue of such appointment, or of any order, assignment or re-appointment thereto,) and fully pay and account for all moneys and public property and supplies, which he may from time to time receive, (or may have received under any other order of assignment or nomination or appointment,) and render full and true accounts of the disposition of all such moneys and public property and supplies, in such manner and at such times as he may be required by the Governor of the State of Mississippi or by such other officer, as may by law be empowered to require the same, that the above obligation is to be void of and of none effect, otherwise it shall remain in full force and virtue.
