The State of Mississippi.

To All Whom These Presents Shall Come⁠—GREETING:

Know Ye, That reposing full faith and confidence in the ability and integrity of [gap] of the County of [gap] , I, WM. L. SHARKEY, Provisional Governor, of the State of Mississippi, do hereby appoint said [gap] to the office of [gap] of the County aforesaid, and do empower him to execute and perform all duties that may be required of him by law, or that are incident to said office.

Given under my hand, and the Great Seal of the State, at Jackson, this [gap] day of [gap] A. D., 1865.
