Dear Nabby,
I have not yet had the satisfaction of hearing
a word from home since I left it - I however, without
intermission continue my letters, as well as my good
wishes, & find herein one of the principal pleasures
which I can at this distance enjoy.-.Nabbby &
Charlotte I hope do you all the good they can, &
as for the little boy if he can do you no good
I hope he does no hurt, at least that he does not do
you so much hurt as to disturb you these could
nights - If he does however, you have my leave
to correct him which I hope will be for his benefit
& yours too. I wish you to write me how he conducts
& how he talks, & if possible also how he looks for
I have lost some of his features in spite of my
endeavours to retain them & tho I think of him
perhaps
