My dear Emily.

I have the pleasure to inform you
that Henry Trowbridge & his brother Winsted
have arrived in good health, except that
Henry has not wholly recovered from his rheu-
matism, which affects one of his knees. We are
relieved from great anxiety, particularly on
Mary's account.

This day the remains of Thomas Darling have
been consigned to the grave. He had a large rup-
ture which produced mortification; but he died
a triumphant death.

We hear that Mr E has lost a good horse &
sleigh, but have had no particulars.

Mr Fowler has resigned his professorship in
Amherst College, probably on account of the proverty
of the institution; but his resignation does not take
place till the end of the year.

We are in usual health & all join in love to
you & all the family.

Your affectionate father
