Dear Emily

Your mother desires to know some-
thing of your arrangements for the next weeks. Who
is coming with Pinckney & at what time. I think
you had better come in the cars which arrive
here about noon, & spend the afternoon with us. This
is better than to come in darkness. Your mother
can furnish three beds; & we expect Mr Ellsworth
& you, & the Doctor & his bride will be our
guests.

I am now writing, for the first time, with
a pen from Wright & Co. & I think I shall continue
the use of it.

We are in pretty good health; your
mother is much better than she was some
weeks past.

Mr Trowbridge, Mary's husband, has had a severe
fever in Barbadoes, & has been at the point of eath;
but has so far recovered as to be in his store. We
hope he will not suffer a relapse. Poor Mary; how
much she has suffered!

Much love to you all from your

affectionate father ~

N Webster.
