New Haven June 10 1836

Dear Emily.

I duly recd yours the other day. I am
rejoiced that you are mending.

I expect to start for Middlebury next monday & be
with you at night. I am afraid I shall not see Mr
Ellsworth, as he will go to Litchfield, I suppose this week.
He told me he had it in contemplation to ride a
journey with you soon, & I wish him to take an
eastern direction, & go to Concord in New Hampshire,
to do some business for me. You would pass through
Worcester & Lowell, & I think this would be agreeable
to you. But if he is to be absent on monday next,
I shall not have an opportunity to see him. I will
however write instructions & leave the necessary papers
with you. I expect to be absent three or four weeks.

We are all pretty well, except little Fanny G.
whose head appears to be []

Love to all from your affectionate

N Webster
