New Haven Nov.r 5 1835

Dear Emily.

As we have not heard from you, since
you left us, I presume you reached home in safety. We
are all as usual. We have just recd letters from William
& Rosalie, who are in good health.

I write this line with a special view to get,
if possible, some slips of the grape vine in my fathers
orchard. As Mr Ellsworth wants some too, why will
he not ride out with you to West Hartford, or let Pinckney,
do it, & with Mr. Hurlburts permission cut fifteen
or twenty slips of the vine of the last growth & let
him bring a few to me. If this should give you
much inconvenience, then do not attempt it.

I wish Pinckney to call on Mr Langdon & bring
back the little book which you carried for him.
It is the book in which Lucy's safety []is
recorded. Love to you all
