Regular Meeting
Sacramento, January 30, 1901
The Board met in the synagogue at 8 P.M.
Mr. Albert Elkus, President, presiding.
Roll call. Messrs. E. Steinmann, treasurer, H. Fraley,
and J. Anchell, school directors, noted absent.
Minutes of last regular meeting read and approved.
Under the head of application for membership --
it was stated that Mrs. Alexander wanted to become
again a member of the congregation by paying $1.50
per month & that she wanted to pay the amount
of back dues at such times as she is maybe in a
position to do so, and she paid $10.00 on account.
The secretary was instructed to place her name
on the roll of members.
The name of Mr. Rothholz was proposed
as a member and was declared elected. And his
name placed on the roll.
The president reported that he had authorized
the rabbi to marry Miss Krebs & Mr. [??Langfelt]
and had collected the fees of $25.00 & handed
the amount to the secretary.
In the matter of $100.00 to be collected from
Henry Meyer for the plot in cemetery, the president
reported that Mr. Meyer would pay tomorrow
the amount if a receipt signed by the
president and secretary & the seal of the
congregation attached.
Mr. Stich stated that the brick wall on the
rear of the synagogue was in a very poor
condition, that the new addition was working
itself loose from the old wall & was in a
dangerous condition. On motion, the president
was instructed to investigate with full power
to act.
The regular salaries were ordered paid
and warrants drawn on the treasurer.
