Sacramento, June 29th, 1879

A regular monthly meeting by the
Board of officers of the Congregation B'nai Israel
was held at Judge Haines office at 2 1/2 P.M.

Mr. L. Elkus, President, in the Chair.
All Officers was noted present.

Mr. A. Hamburger propose Mr. Hyum
to become a member of this congregation.
On motion the application was received and
the applicant voted for, which resulted
in his election.

On motion of Mr. J. S. Newmark a committee
of three be appointed to examine the books
of the outgoing Secretary and Treasurer and report
at the next regular meeting. Carried.
The President appointed Mr. Newmark, Hamburger,
and B. Levy.

The following bills was presented and on motion
ordered paid

Rev. H. Loewenthal for salary for the month of June 1879 $100.00
Ch. Barnes for salary for the month of June 1879 15.00
N. Mohns for taking care of cemetery for the month of June 1879 15.00
L. Phillips for advertising in daily papers and telegraph dispatches 5.20

Total $ 135.20

On motion of Mr. Newmark, a committee of three
be appointed to print the new constitution and
by laws, carried.
The president appointed Mr. Newmark, Phillips and Hamburger.

On motion of Mr. Robertscheck a committee of three be appointed
to ascertain what repairs the synagogue needs
and report the same at the next regular
meeting. Carried.
The President appointed Mr. Robertscheck, Levison, and M. Levy.
