dinner Time came they did not come and
Jacob went down to the tunnel to see
what was the matter he went in the
tunnel where they were working and he
found Edward Shore lying on the ground
dead and then he looked around to
see if he could see Ervin and he could
not see him and then he went out of
the tunnel and looked around and
he found him about twenty five feet
from the mouth of the tunnel lying down
by the creek and Jacob went right off
to get help and they brought him to
the house on a bed and they sent right
off for the doctor and the doctor come
and he said one of his eyes was
entirely out and his skull was all
broke in and he took out a good
many bones out from over his eye and
nose he did not see anything
