for such deficiency or falling short on November 5th as may result from them. As I read Article VI of the By-laws it is provided that the director shall perform all his duties under the direction authority or approval of the trustees; not that these duties are to be performed for him by the committee. I have no desire to go beyond the strictest possible interpretation of these By-laws. I only suggest that these details coming within the powers and duties of a director be left to me, as giving my entire time and thoughs to them I think that acting in every case with the approval of the committee, I can possibly worke faster, with fewer delays and acomplish more.
Faithfully yours,

Prof H. H. Smith,
Dear Mr Smith,
Your memorandum of wants received. I would be pleased if you would get the sheets of pressed cork, the Klaeger pins, the Jewelers boxes and cotton balling and velveteen in quantities as necessary to meet your wants. I will be pleased to leave this to your discretion. I would say that I am now getting estimates on 4000 small paste board boxes (1 3/8" x 2") with covers. If you can conveniently wait for these it might be well. These boxes are of a size which will fit nicely in the trays which are being made.
The receiving water is being attended to and so are the servers. I trust that you may be able to get the temporary meeting satisfactorily planned.
You might find who made Dr. Holland's setting boards and then have some made to suit yourself or Dr. Holland could have them made for you. He has some that you can have if you will go to his home. I would get them if I were you.
If you desire anything more kindly let me know.
Very sincerely, yours
F. H. Gerrodette

July 1st 96,
Messrs D. J. Rex & Co. c/o Seventh & Grant Streets Pittsburg, Pa.,
Gentlemen:
We would be pleased to receive your estimate on some pasteboard boxes desired for our museum. We wish them so made that they will fit nicely into wooden trays which we shall use in our cases. The interior dimensions of these trays are about 18 3/4" x 27 1/2" We desire the boxes of such sizes that four of the largest size will fit nicely into one of the trays and so that two of each the other sizes will fit snugly into one of the next larger size. We wish the boxes to be of varying heights from 1/2" to 3" and to have covers. The covers must be of equal depth with the boxes and so made that they will fit snugly over the boxes and come down flush with tthe bottom of the boxes. As I figure it we would want six different sizes, each being twice that of the next smaller size. I would like an estimate on about 8000 of such boxes about as follows,
Size 1 about 9 1/8" x 13 1/2" 250 boxes " 2 " 6 5/8" x 9" 250 " " 3 " 6 1/2" x 4 3/8" 500 " " 4 " 4 1/4" x 3 1/8" 1000 " " 5 " 3" x 2 1/8" 2000 " " 6 " 1 3/8" x 2" 4000 "
Kindly send me this estimate at your earliest convience.
Very sincerely yours,
F. H. Gerrodette
