I would like to have you print just under my own name and in the same style of type, but a little smaller in the size of the letters the name of "Herbert H Smith, Curator of Zoology and Botany" in the position in which I have written if above. This name was omitted in error. Do not begin the printing until you hear from me by telephone in the morning. I will telephone to you the first thing in the morning. I would much like to have the paper returned to me by tomorrow, Tuesday afternooon before 5.30.

Dear Mr. Mellor:

I have just learned from Mr. Harper that he has recieved Mrs. Graham's concerns to the opening of the mound on McKee's rocks. It is conditioned on our securing the contract of the Fidelity Title and Trust Co., which, I do not doubt can be obtained. Mr. Harper will see them at once in regard to it. Mr. Harper, in response to my inquiries writes me that he has tools and can secure others. It will therefore only be neccessary for me to get such as I need for my own use! These I can get with a portion of the petty cash. The items will not be large.

I should like to know as soon as possible whether you decide to go to Washington as I wish to fix the time for beginning the work on the mound in accordance with your wishes in this respect. If we are not to go to Washington this week I should like to begin on the mound at least by Monday. I shall be very glad indeed if you will come with us to the mound and take part, if you desire in the work.

I have called on Dr. Holland to see him about the letters for use in Washington. He was not at home. I will call again to-day.

I would be pleased if you would kindly let me know at what figure you can put in a typewriter here for me. I would like your lowest figure on a new and or a second hand machine in good conditions, and also with and without stand, and with cabinet. I wish a machine if possible with a smaller type than that in most common use. I like the type of the Remington No. 2, but this is not essential. I would be pleased if you would kindly send a representative here to see me at your earliest convenience, tomorrow morning if possible. Could you put a machine here on trial for a short time?
