A very bad day. The ground was
covered with snow & ice and it
rained most of the morning.
Ben & Jim could not work at
any thing much. Jim kept a
good fire at the dining room.
Ben went to Renan late
this evening. He went horse back.
He carried Kate Harvey some
quilting frames. Henry went
to school. I cooked the break
fast & churned and killed
a chicken and d[r]essed it.
Josie cooked the dinner
and made ice cream. We
all did enjoy it. Josie got a
letter from Carrie. I got
one from Effie Brumfield
and three of their pictures.
