Thursday December 1, 1921

A beautiful day. Ben hauled some lightwood this morning. This evening he went to Strait Stone and brought Mr George Worsham up to the school house and carried him back. They got the pump to work so they can get water at the school house. The picture agent come this evening and brought Josies pictures. Carrie Smith had a lot of company this evening. Kate Harvey & Mag Brumfield, Mollie Reynolds and Josie and Mabel. Otho Blair and Sallie and I went fishing. Did not catch many fish but had a pleasant evening. I was so glad that they carried me. Marvin has his waggon loaded to got to Gretna. I fear it will rain by morning. Jim has not come home yet.

Friday December 2, 1921

Rain this morning and this evening. Henry went to school. Marvin carried his children & Henry. Ben worked on Marvins car the most of the day. Jim come home to night. Ben met him and brought him home. Josie made me three aprons and got dinner. This evening she ironed some collars and six nice shirts. I ironed all the washing excep the shirts and collars. I went to Marvins. Carrie was makeing Hazel a dress. Henry brought us a pound of butter from Otho Blairs to day. Mabel is not well tonight. I hope she may be well soon. Carrie talked with Ethel this evening.

Saturday December 3, 1921

A beautiful day. Ben & Jim & Henry sawed wood all day and did not get done. Jim went to Hutchersons and got oil and Ben went to Renan and got oil. Josie has had a time with Mabel. She has bin sick all day. I got dinner. This evening I went to Marvins a whil. Marvin went to Strait Stone to preaching. Brought me two books that I borrowed from Ethel Worsham. I have bin reading tonight. There is a show at Renan to night. None of my folks did not go to see it. Ben and Henry went hunting tonight. Did not catch any thing. Professor Gambol passed here this evening on his way to Mr Edmons. Guess he will spend the night there.

Sunday December 4, 1921

A rainy day. We all staid at home until after dinner. I went to Marvins late this evening. Marvin is thinking of killing hogs in the morning. Mabel is not well yet. Hope she will be well soon. I got dinner except make a potatoe salid. Josie made that. It was fine. I and Josie have read some today in book that we borrowed.

Monday December 5, 1921

A colde windy day. Marvin killed hogs. Ben & Jim helped him. They sent Reese for Martha Miller. She come and will helpe them for several days until they move. I was there today. Jim and I eat dinner there. Josie got dinner at home. She made some preserves and pickel to day. Poor little Mabel has cried the most of the day. I feel so troubled a bout her and cant do any thing to help her. The children went to school today. It was rough on little ones.
