Tuesday January 11, 1921

Cloudy most of the day. Snow on the ground yet. Jim & Ben & Owen stripped tobacco all day. The children went to school.

Josie got dinner and supper.

I did not do any thing much all day. I got breakfast and milked the cows. Brought up the water for tonight. Got up the eggs and fed the calf and watered her.

I have read to night until some one ought to of made me go to bed.

We heard to day that Mildred Fergerson is very sick. I do hope she may get well soon.

A cloudy day but no weather yet. The wind is blowing to night. Jim and Ben stripped tobacco today. Mr Owen helped. The children went to school. Josie pieced on her quilt.

I done as near nothing as I could. I heard today that Mrs Jack Kellie is very sick. I hope she may get well. There is a lot of sickness a bought. I have not seen Carrie this week. She is bad off with colde. Josie and Carrie talk over the phone.

A cloudy day. Snowed a little this evening. Ben & Jim shucked some corn this morning with snow on it then stripped tobacco. Mr Owen got some wood.

Josie and I washed some this morning. Josie got dinner & supper.

The children went to school. It has bin a very colde day.

A very bad day. Hail & rain and sleet. The ice was so heavy that some trees broke. The olde cut paper here broke badly.

Jim and Ben stripped tobacco. Ben milked for me this morning. I was a fraid I might fall on the ice.

I got dinner and churned. Mr Sam Owens baby is very sick. Josie went up there this evening. I am sorry for them but cant help them. Marvin solde tobacco at Gretna today. Was well pleased. I am so glad. I have not seen any of Marvins people in some time. Hope the weather will soon be better so I can get a round.

Mabel has woke up. She gives her mother a hard time. I pittie Josie and the baby.

Saturday January 15, 1921

A bad day. Ice on the ground and trees. It has thawed some today. Jim & Ben worked on tobacco all day. Ben milked for me this morning. Josie got dinner and supper. She baked a cake and cooked beans. I ironed some and mended some and set by the fire.

Heard this morning that Mrs Marsali fell on the ice and hurt her arm badly. I am afraid to go on ice much. I went to the spring and hen house and watered the calf to day. Did not fall.

Mr Owens baby is very sick. The dr went to see him tonight. I am sorry for any one to be sick any time and this is such bad weather. An oil tank come in here today. The roads is so bad that no one is going much.
