A good day. I got breakfast
and milked the cows then Ben
carried Cordie and I to Long Island.
We come on the Virginian R-R
to Alberta. The[re] we had to wait
for a train until dark then we
came to Richmond. Willie &
Julia met us at the depot.
We come on a street car
to Willies house. Effie had
a good supper. I am so glad
that we got here ok.

Ben W. Brumfield

If you look at Alberta Virginia on Google Maps, it appears to be both a rail junction and a place where US-1 crosses the rail line. It's also between Long Island and Richmond. While her writing is still unclear, I think that's enough correlation to justify resolving the word as "Alberta".
