From the second of these latter attacks his aircraft was fire on by an enemy aircraft, and returned badly damaged.

Pilot Officer Keedwell was the pilot of a Blenheim aircraft engaged during the German advance on the 12th May 1940 in bombing bridges in the Maastright Area of Belgium. The aircraft failed to return to its base, having been shot down by enemy fighters, and all the crew, including Pilot Officer Keedwell were classified as missing. In due course his death was presumed to have occurred on the 12th May 1940. Later, information was received from the Belgium Government Surete that the aircraft had been shot down near Voroux-Goreaux, in the Province of Liege and all the occupants had lost their lives, being buried in the Municipal Cemetery at Voroux-Goreaux, Belgium.
