Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church met in regular service
and conference Oct, 20, 1928. Minutes approved as read.
Report of the Association was given by Bro Howard, In
this report he stated that a car load of provision was
to be sent to the Orphans home, motion carried
that Church elect a committee to solicit provision
to be sent by us. Sisters Alice Barton, Belle Sharp
and Grace Sharp and Brethern [Brethren] C.C. Wyatt and
HG Sparks were elected as committee. Motion car-
ried that Sister Lola Edens take Sister Johnnie Lee
Feamster's place as teacher in S.S. class No. 2, until
time to elect new officers and teachers for S.S.
Motion carried that Church elect officers and
teachers for S.S. in Dec. (next). Motion carried to
accept the report of committee on collection of Pastor's
last years salary but retain committee until
work is finished. Motion carried that Church
prefer charges against Bro and Sister Broume
and a committee appointed to serve them.
The following charges were prefered against
Sister Broume, - We, the Mt. Pleasant Baptist
Church of Backville Tex, do hereby prefer charges
against Sister Broume,
First, for contempt of the Church.
Second, for contempt of our Pastor.
Third, for endeavoring to cause division and strife
among the members.
Fourth, - for the malicious, and scornful accusations
of abuse, against Sister Mary Sparks, in a public way,
during the conference of Sep, [12?]-, 1928.
Fifth - for accusing Bro C.C. Wyatt of a thing he denies
