Sessums and Martin Dial, appraisers appointed by the Probate Court of Rusk County, and deposeth and sayeth on oath that they have proceeded to appraise all of the property pointed out to us by the administrator, and affixed the value annexed to each item, and that the total amount of $2,165.30 [is] to the best of our skill and judgement of the value of such property. The State of Texas, Rusk County } Before the undersigned authority, this day personally appeared Eliza Nowlin, adminstratrix of Lewis Nowlin, who after being sworn, says that the foregoing is a correct inventory of all of the effects of the estate of Lewis Nowlin, deceased, that has come into her hands, and that she claims the negro girl mentioned in said inventory as her separate property by purchase from James Burch. Inventory and appraisement. Inventory of the property of the estate of Tabitha Dorsett. 1 negro woman, Mary, and child. 1 negro boy, Henry. 1 negro girl, Ann. We, the undersigned appraisers appointed by the County Court to appraise the property of the estate of Tabitha Dorsett, do appraise the: Negro woman, Mary, and child at: $1000.00. Boy, Henry: $800.00. Girl, Ann: $600.00. [Total]: $3,400.00. Before me, the undersigned authority, this day personally came A. W. Dorsett, administrator of the estate of Tabitha Dorsett, deceased, who after being duly sworn, says that the foregoing inventory contains a list of all the property belonging to said estate that has come into his hands. Petition. The State of Texas, County of Rusk } County Court, January term 1854. Your petitioners, A. W. Dorsett, administrator of Tabitha Dorsett and guardian of A. F. Dorsett, and John C. Dorsett, for himself and as guardian of W. H. Dorsett, would represent that there are no debts due by said estate except the expenses of administration, and that there are no effects of said estate except for four negroes, which are appraised at $2,400, and that there are ten heirs, all of whom are of lawful age except the two minors above-mentioned, and five of whom are now residents of Rusk County. Your petitioners would therefore pray that citation issue and publication be made requiring the said heirs, to wit, Charles Dorsett, [blank] Walling, wife of John C. Walling, Theodore J. Dorsett, and Sarah Canady, wife of M. Canady, citizens of Cherokee County, Texas, Matilda Howeth, wife of F. C. Howeth, a citizen of Henderson County, and Susan Howeth, wife of Harvy Howeth, a citizen of [blank] County, Texas, to be and appear at the next term of the County Court to be holden in and for said county at the county seat thereof to show cause why said estate should not be distributed among said heirs or the proper steps taken preparatory thereto. Order. Estate of Tabitha Dorsett. And now at this term of the Court comes the administrator of said estate and files his petition praying the Court to grant him an order to distribute said estate. Which said petition being considered of by the Court, it is ordered that the administrator proceed to sell the slaves belonging to said estate on the 1st Tuesday in April next at the courthouse door in the town of Henderson on a credit of until the 1st day of January A. D. 1855. All the parties having accepted service of the necessary citation and waiving the necessity of appointing commisioners. The State of Texas, County of Rusk } To the Honorable John C.
