Dear Bro
I was very sorry to receive the sad news, but it was not surprising at all. We all knew that it must be very soon. I thought I would see Kate again when I was there and would have gone down but could hardly get off. I didn't talk to Kate like I thought she would never get well. I did not want to discourage her and cause her to feel sad. I think it best to let the sick have all the hope they can.

I think I can imagine how you feel. and you have all my sympathy. it is hard enough to give up a Sister much less a wife, but while you are grieved you have one bright hope. she told you where you would find her if you wanted to spend your eternal life with her. and you know that those who go before, are always happier than those they leave behind.
You had better shut up and come up and stay with us a while untill you can make arrangements for business.
We want to move and have decided to quit farming. we may get in shape to move soon
