Dear Brother

I received your letter several days since and should have answered it sooner but I knew that Joe would see you all and tell you how matters stood with us and I thought that he could tell you better than I could write and I wanted to see what arrangements that he would make with Moore & Drew They advise us not to start up for some time yet and Moore thinks

that he can get some other parties to take stock with us to the amt of $25000 and if he does that will enable us to put in a tram and then we will be all right. that is if timber will spring up some in prices as I think that it will soon. We are sawing our planed and dressing out some timber that we have on the yard and will be able to settle with our hands soon we have got two or three very nice bills of timber from Alexandria which will be spot cash which will relieve us with our hands in a few days all hands has left here except a few just about enough to run the planer and give us a chance to get our lumber out and get

the money for it. We have had several days of verry pretty weather, but it is raining this evening. you asked about our stock they have had a pretty tough time several head of the oxen has died but the rest of them are getting along all right now. I spoke to an old man out in the country for a few Plum trees for you he said that he would bring them in this week and I have some Peach seed that I will send with them. the family are all well and send love to all well everything is so dull up here that I have nothing to write about so will close for this time Your affectionate Brother
