Mr. Robert E Russell,
Esteemed Friend
There has been
some time passed since I received your letter
of the sixteenth surely you must think
me a very slow correspondent; I have put
off writing untill Friday and I will have
to hurry or not make a very long okay letter
as things done in a hurry is never done well
I must write you some this week for it
will be a long time be fore that privilege
is granted again;
Today will be the commencement of
the quarterly meeting at Wilson's Chapel
I have no idea it would do me any good
if I was to go; so I will stay at home
and try to be better if I can
I will answer some of your questions by
asking a few; do you think that if Maud
would not tell, ought I to do so, and I
think I would be praying dear for her
