Biographical Note: Both the McFarland and the Russell families have their roots in early East Texas. In 1871, the two families came together with the marriage of Robert Everett Russell (b. Oct. 10, 1847, d. May 24, 1922) and Catherine Christine McFarland (b. July 2, 1849, d. Oct. 17, 1888), the daughter of Thomas S. McFarland. BR> (Brinley, Lorine.
