Jeremiah (1844-1908) was the first child of JWG and Nancy Hunt Graves. He married Amanda "Mott" or "Mottie" Myrlis Cleoptra Cook (1849-1938). They had 6 children. "Jere," as JWG usually refers to him was much closer to JWG than Jacob, JWG's son with his first wife, Catharine Boxley, who died in 1840, just 2 years after Jacob was born. Jere and Mott, and their children, visited JWG frequently.
