Spring Thoughts

In the spring the young man's fancy
Coat and vest come out of pawn.
And the devotees of tennis
Measure out the college lawn.
In the spring the young man's fancy
Lightly leans upon his arm
As they stroll she coyly murmurs
" Skating dear has lost its charm.
Let us wander down to Boomer's
Where the cooling fountains flow,
They have sixteen brand-new flavors
And I long to taste them so."
But he firmly, gently leads her
Past the sweet enticing door
And he mutters, "I must hurry
Back to college. Au Revoir."
