To all people to whom this present writing shall come Tahantoe
Indian Sagamore of Pinnacoke in New England sends Greeting
Know ye that the said Tahantoe Indian Sagamore of Pinnacoke
for That William Hilton now of Charlestowne in the Massachussess
Colony in New England marriner sonne of William Hilton formerly
of piscatague, which said Willm Hilton marriner together with his said
Father about 30 years ago had intercourse with us by way of
trade mutual giving and [illegible poss receiving?, and many [illegible] by them
formerly showed [illegible] as this said Johantoe Indian Sagamore of pinnacoks
Do is that in the year One thousand six hundred
Thirty Six I gave unto said William Hilton this [illegible][illegible]
land for Quantity six miles on the river [illegible] being
a rivulet running into the [illegible] of pinnacoks, also more
of my best meadow lands in Quantity two miles, both which
lands Quantitys of lands are near together and byoth on this
north eastside of this [illegible] pinnacoks joining to the same
with all & every the apportionate [?] of all the aforsd lands, and
in the same year gave the said William Hilton the younger
position thereof or part thereof in [illegible] of y" whole, but this
not then given any deeds in writing Wherefore now further
know ye that for the consideration aforsd expressed in respect
of many [illegible] [illegible] by us from [illegible] William
Histon the son and his said ffather, not only before tho said
first Great in this land [illegible] one thousand six hundred
[illegible] as of pinnacoks have voluntarily [illegible] given
compleating the sd Wm Histon [illegible] by these [illegible]
Do give great [illegible] and confusion unto him that
said William Histon by having end assignes for over
all and every part of this aforesd lands of marsh and
[illegible] the summe to be so paid out & bounded as may be
and enjoy all and every part of the afrsaid [illegible] being
part upland and part meadow or March according to there
bounds and extent thereof unto the said William Hilton
[illegible] & forms as I this said Johantoe Indian Sagamore
of pinnacoks may grant [illegible] and assure the same To
[illegible] [illegible] and [illegible] unto him the William Histon his
[illegible] and assigned for ever as afiresaid as him and their own
