Came personally before me JR John
a justice of the peace in and for said
County Jefferson J Watts and Meary J Watts his wife whose names
appear to the within deed and acknowledged that they signed
sealed and delivered the within deed on the day and year
therein named and for the purposes therein expressed to the
grantee therein named and Meary J Watts wife of the said
Jefferson J Watts acknowledged that she relinquished her right
of [ illegible word ] in and to the within conveyed land by signing the
within deed of here own free will withought fear or compuslion
by her said husband. Given under my hand and Seal
this twentieth day of March 1845

Defendant then proved that said Watts was in possession of said
land by his [ illegible word ] in the year 1845 and that Scarborough
had left the county and that the defendant was a bonafide
purchaser for a valuable consideration, there was no proof that
defendant hand any notice or knowledge of a fraud in the
making of the defend deed from Scarborough to Watts nor any
actual notice of the purchase by plaintiffs at Sheriff sale
defendant next introduced the deposition of one [ illegible word]. Who
testified, among other things that he was security for said
Scarborough and that said Watts paid the debts , the note
was payable to one Charles [ illegible word ] for about one hundred
and Seventy Dollars that said Watts promised him before
