To the Honorable The Senate & Assembly of Wisconsin

The undersigned resident taxpayers of Dane County do pray your Honorable Body to oppose the passage of any Bill purporting to authorize Dane County to borrow money for the purpose of buying a farm on which to support [payers/papers?] or for any other purpose. And respectfully submit the following as some of our reasons for asking this just favor at your hands-

1st The question was brought up before the Board of Supervisors of Janu 6th at this session in Januy last without having been previously agitated of Madison, it was carried by a small majority thoughtlessly without the previous knowledge or consent of their constituents.

2d We have good reason to believe that seven tenths of the inhabitants of Dane County would be strongly opposed to the measure

3d Similar establishments in other States and in some counties of this State have almost invariably proved a failure.
