Aunt Josephine lived to be more than 90 years
old. Before she died she sent back her copy,
realizing I would want to leave a copy to
each of my granddaughters, - which thought
I deeply appreciate.

Since reading your two books it occurs to me
you might possibly like to look over the
record of Father's war years. There may be nothing
of value to the Folger record, and yet you might
some day say "Why didn't you let me know you
had all that revealing material?" It is precious
to me. It required almost no editing to make
it suitable for any one interested. One copy
nicely survived a trip to be read by several
families in the Chicago suburb who were our
near neighbors during Father's later years.
