Dear Mr. Tucker:
Thank you for your letter of February 9, and for the kind offer for me to write a novel expressing your ideas and views on the "problem of the color line".
Unfortunately, as you may realize, I do not have the time to do any writing of my own. My daily schedules are filled with trips with trips for speaking engagements, and matters concerning the Georgia Legislature.
I do wish you the best of success in your endeavor to find a writer.
Sincerely,
Julian Bond
