CHEERING NEWS FROM ALBANY.

ALBANY, March 23, 1859.

F. DOUGLASS, ESQ.: DEAR FRIEND:—The Concurrent Resolutions of the Legislature of this State, to abolish the Property Qualification, were called up this morning in the Assembly by Mr. Hutchinson of Orleans, who made a few remarks in regard to the obvious justice and necessity of the proposed amendment. He was ably supported in short, pertinent remarks, by Messrs. Brockway, Spencer, Scholefield, Andrews and others.

The vote on the final passage was 83 ayes —all Republicans—and 21 nays—all Democratic.

They will, without doubt, pass the Senate on Saturday or Monday. They are all right then.

Your friend,

STEPHEN MYERS.
