Yours of the 26th Inst has been received by due course of mail and its contents noticed. I fully concur with you in reference to the loss we have sustained in the death of the Hon James B Martin. And language would fail me were I to attempt to describe the gloom depicted on the countenance of his numerous friends through out this entire community on receiving the melancholy news of his untimely death.
I will accept the appointment of Judge of the tenth judicial circuit
